Happy Halloween, trainer

Hee hee. I am Hazel, and for as long as this event runs the whole region is out trick-or-treating. Ghosts are loose on every map, the route trainers are in costume, and there is candy everywhere you look.

Catch Pokémon, beat the trick-or-treaters, pick candy up off the ground on the maps and claim your Daily Checklist. I will even give you a candy for every 10 Pokémon you release. All of it fills your pockets with Halloween Candy.

Bring your candy to me

Candy does nothing sitting in your pockets. To turn it in you have to come and speak to me on the maps. I am standing in Origin Town. Walk up, say the magic words, and I will hand you a trick or a treat.

Agatha is roaming the RPG

My old friend Agatha is wandering about too. She can turn up at any moment while you play, on any page, and ask for a battle. She is looking for something very particular, and if you have it she will turn one of your Pokémon Golden. This is how it works:

1. Put the three Pokémon she wants in the first three slots of your roster, in the right order.
2. Give each of them the right item to hold.
3. Accept her battle when she appears, and win.
4. The Pokémon in your first slot turns Golden. It has to be an ordinary one, not Shiny, Dark or any other variant.

There are two sets she will accept this year, each for a different new Golden Pokémon, and she will make two Goldens for each trainer. If your roster is not what she wants, it is only a battle, and she will be back.

My riddles, and why you need each other

Agatha will not tell you what she wants. I will, but only in riddles. There are 12 riddles in all: each one names one Pokémon or one held item from one of her two sets. You can hear up to three a day, one from each of these:

1. The maps. Beat every trick-or-treater on five maps in one day, then come and see me in Origin Town.
2. The Haunted Cabin. Lay all three ghosts in the cabin at the Campgrounds to rest, then ask the Caretaker.
3. My candy jar. Buy one from me for 50 Halloween Candy.

Each source gives one riddle a day, and they all reset at midnight UTC. Every riddle you hear is kept under Riddles on this page and sent to your messages.

No two trainers hear them in the same order, so the trainer next to you is holding pieces you are missing. Compare notes, share your riddles, solve them together, and you will have your Golden Pokémon long before anyone working alone.
